Architects Assistant - 2023
Montez Architecture Ltd is an RIBA Chartered Practice in Herefordshire specialising in Conservation Architecture. We are seeking an Architects Assistant or CAD Technician to join our small, but experienced team in our new office in Leominster. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to grow and learn as part of a team who are passionate about historic buildings and the preservation of their unique character.
As an Architects Assistant or CAD Technician, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, assisting the architect in their day-to-day work, including alterations, extensions, and repairs to historic buildings. You will also be involved in providing great solutions for modern buildings and developments in both urban and rural contexts. We do a lot of work in timber frame building conservation, so experience or an interest in this field would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of CAD, preferably Vectorworks and Sketchup. We are looking for the right person with potential rather than the right qualifications, and it will be a fantastic opportunity for the appointed candidate to expand their learning about Conservation Architecture. You will be working closely with the architects in the practice and will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the design process.
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary with good holiday benefits. The position is open to Part I, Part II and CAD Technicians, and we welcome applications from candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.
This position will allow the candidate to grow and learn and will provide an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and friendly team. We work closely with the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), with the principle of the practice, Christian Montez, being a former SPAB Scholar. This means that the successful candidate will be exposed to the latest thinking and techniques in historic building conservation, and will have the opportunity to attend SPAB training courses and events.
This position is expected to start in May 2023, but we are willing to consider some flexibility for the right candidate.
