The Raven Hotel Droitwich

The Raven in Droitwich is a fantastic collection of buildings which at its core is a 15th century manor house which was converted in the late 18th early 19th century into a coaching inn. The Raven saw great success through the Victorian era with visitors coming to the enjoy the brine baths. Through the mid to late 20th century a large dance hall was added to the rear of the property in a feux classical style.

Unfortunately fashions and circumstances changed which lead to the buildings closure, with the building now being disused for over 10 years, with numerous projects staring and not ever coming to fruition.

Our job currently sees us working with the client on to come up with a sympathetic use for the building going forward. This has meant much research into the structure through timber frame surveys, condition surveys and historical reports to inform our proposals going forward. Our job has been to pick the historic bones out of the very muddled core and come up with both a scheme and repair strategy for the building going forward.

As the project develops we shall post further information here!
